A registrar is a company that allows individuals or companies to register a domain name.
The customer will require the domain name. The registrar then checks with the central
registry for the domain to make sure it is available. If so, the registrar will then take
the required details from the customer and attempt to process the order to register
that specific domain.
All companies offering domain registration services do so via a registrar that will process the order
who are licensed by ICANN.
ICANN stands for The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers.
It is a non-profit organization made up of various stakeholders in the Internet
space and governs the domain name registration space.
